How much does a website cost?

2 min read
Short answer

Agencies that publish their prices quote roughly €750 to €1,500 for a simple site, €1,500 to €7,500 for a business site and €3,000 to €10,000 for an online shop. On top of that you pay every year for the domain, hosting and maintenance. The difference comes down to bespoke work, copy, images and the number of pages.

The question is simple; the answer depends on what the site has to do. A five-page online business card is a different job from a site that has to bring in enquiries, or a shop with a hundred products.

What agencies charge

Dutch agencies that publish their prices quote these figures in 2026: a simple site around €750 to €1,500, a business site €1,500 to €7,500, an online shop €3,000 to €10,000 and fully bespoke work from about €7,500. These are ranges from the market, not a quote.

Where the difference lies

Four things decide the price. The design: an existing template or a design of your own. The content: do you supply the copy and photos, or do they have to be created. The size: the number of pages and languages. And what the site has to be able to do, such as a quote form, a booking calendar or a link to your accounts.

What you pay again every year

A site isn't finished once it's delivered. You pay for the domain, the hosting, updates and small changes. The same agencies quote €30 to €150 a month for that. Always ask what is and isn't included.

Ask this before you sign

Whose name are the domain and the site in? Can you leave without losing everything? And is the price fixed, or could something be added afterwards? A good proposal puts a figure against each item.
